Filler in Korea

Increased Skin Volume, Increased Confidence

What is Filler?

As we age, our faces lose collagen, hyaluronic acid, elastin, and fat, leading to volume loss and the formation of wrinkles. In such cases, dermal fillers are injected into the skin to smooth out wrinkles or restore volume in areas such as the lips, cheeks, and forehead. They are effective in making the face look more youthful, whether it’s by improving sunken scars or creating plumper lips.

In addition to providing immediate volume enhancement, fillers also stimulate fibroblasts to strengthen collagen and fat tissue, making them beneficial for long-term anti-aging. They can also be used for non-surgical aesthetic enhancements, such as raising a low nose bridge or adding fullness to the forehead.

  • Volume Restoration: Replenishes volume in areas of the face to create a more youthful appearance
  • Wrinkle Improvement: Fills under the skin to smooth out fine lines and deeper wrinkles
  • Contour Enhancement: Refines facial contours, making features look sharper and more three-dimensional

Filler treatment Procedure

There are various types of fillers, but hyaluronic acid fillers account for approximately 80% of all filler procedures. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a naturally occurring substance in the human body, capable of attracting and retaining over 1,000 times its weight in water. This makes it highly effective at adding volume to the treatment area.

Although HA fillers are relatively short-lasting, they are gradually absorbed by the body over time, making them safe and biocompatible. One of their key advantages is that they rarely cause foreign body sensations or lumpiness when injected, providing a smooth and natural finish.

Where Can Fillers Be Applied?

Fillers are effective in adding volume to various areas of the face or improving the appearance of wrinkles. The main areas where fillers can be applied are as follows:

Plump up thin lips

Improve under-eye hollowness to create ‘aegyo-sal’

Smooth out a sunken forehead

Enhance sunken cheeks and nasolabial folds

Elevate a low nasal bridge

Correct a receding chin and sunken scars

Restoring volume and youth.

Differences between Botox and fillers

BotoxFiller
How It WorksInjects ‘botulinum toxin’ into muscles to inhibit muscle contraction, thereby improving wrinklesInjects a filler substance similar to natural body components like hyaluronic acid into volume-deficient areas
Application AreasWrinkles around the eyes, forehead wrinkles, glabellar lines, or areas with large muscles like the masseterAdds volume to sunken areas such as lips, cheeks, nose, and chin to improve contour and wrinkles
DurationEffects typically last about 3 to 6 monthsDepending on the type of filler, effects last from 6 months to 2 years

Depending on the type of filler, the effects can generally last for a long time, from 6 months to 2 years. The most commonly used hyaluronic acid filler usually lasts for 6 months to 1 year.

Both are injection treatments, but Botox improves wrinkles by suppressing muscle contraction, and filler is a procedure that injects body-like ingredients into sunken areas to give volume.
